• Programming Strategy: Designing daily and weekly clocks, balancing teaching, music, both and features.
• Format Consistency: Maintaining a cohesive sound that feels predictable, not repetitive.
• Quality Control: Regularly reviewing programs, transitions, and imaging to maintain a clean, uncluttered on-air sound.

Station Manager / General Manager

• Operational Oversight: Managing daily operations, coordinating with engineering, and overseeing the on-air product.
• Team Leadership: Working with hosts, volunteers, and support staff in a clear, encouraging way.
• Listener-Focused Decisions: Weighing mission, budget, and sound to serve listeners well over time.

Production, Editing, and Live Production

Production and Editing: I handle daily editing of programs, promos, and special features, including time-sensitive content. My goal is always a natural, unforced sound—clean edits, reasonable levels, and a mix that supports the content instead of distracting from it.  

Live Broadcast Board Operator: Daily board operator for a live show, ensuring clean transitions, level consistency, cue execution, and timing accuracy.

Having lived in Portland for ten years and previously serving with a Northwest Christian station, I developed a strong appreciation for the calmer, more thoughtful listening style that audiences value. That perspective aligns naturally with stations that prioritize careful curation, clarity, and a sense of calm over noise and urgency.

Although my professional background is not in classical radio, I have spent years working with carefully curated, message-driven, and foundational music. That experience has shaped a programming style that values space, clarity, and respect for the listener, qualities that translate naturally into classical and fine-arts broadcasting.

Family Connection to Classical Study

Our daughter is a classically trained pianist in her junior year of college, majoring in Music Performance with a second major in Accounting. Her practice, recitals, and repertoire keep our home closely connected to the classical world. That ongoing exposure helps me understand what today’s classical students and listeners experience—and what they appreciate in a well-run station.
